This track was recorded as a duet with Keith Urban.
This track was excluded from the album because Jon's and Keith's voices sounded too similar, and the banjo didn't work properly with the song.
The track was later recorded with Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, and reached #1 on the country charts

Who Says You Can't Go Home is about remaining true to your roots; no matter where you go, there is always one place you consider 'home'.
As the band tour frequently, and spend a lot of time away from home (New Jersey), this song has an obvious and true meaning to them.
Jon was quoted as saying:
"We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past 25 years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the de facto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities. Although we have not asked, we do not approve of their use of 'Home.'"
